Child Custody Evaluations typically include:
- Interviews with each parent
- Interviews with the child(ren)
- Psychological testing of parents and children
- Parent-
child observation - Review of records
- Interviews with important collaterals
- Home visits if needed
At the conclusion of the evaluation, Dr. Shelton will submit a report to the attorneys and/or the court. Dr. Shelton adheres to the highest standards of professional ethics and provides objective services tailored to meet the needs of each case. Her approach emphasizes empirical research and established professional guidelines. Her methodology is designed to provide information which is useful to the courts and which allows the parties to understand how conclusions were reached and what data were relied upon. Dr. Shelton will be available for depositions or hearings regarding the findings of her evaluation.
Child custody evaluations are conducted pursuant to a court order naming Dr. Shelton as the evaluator. The court order should address any special considerations and define the terms of the payment arrangements.
